VIC - 'Changing the Dream' Symposium in Eltham
GAIN (Greenhouse Action in Nillumbik) are hosting the 'Changing the Dream' Symposium in Eltham on the 29th July.
In the wake of the film An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore, over 700 people have taken part in “Changing the Dream” since it came to Australia in October 2006, www.bethechange.org.au . ‘The Changing the Dream’ is a meeting place for those of us who want to respond to the calls for Climate Change, and who are willing to make changes in our lives and businesses to consciously build a sustainable footprint.
This is a structured, facilitated, full day event within which we investigate at the world we humans have created, engage with our despair and move into action. I experienced the Symposium as a powerful event which activates people to be alive in their responses to the challenges we face - in relation to the environment and social justice. Many of our community feel overwhelmed by these issues and so keep on with ‘business-as-usual’, happily lulled into believing that ‘someone else’ will get us out of this mess! 'Changing the Dream' is a great 'wake -up' and activator.
Our vision is that ‘Changing The Dream’ in Eltham will be a community event where each of us can connect with our heartfelt response to climate change and move into action together.
The early bird rate is $55 and $35 (concession) is available until Thursday 19th of July. Students aged between 14 and 18 years, $10 each. See attached flyer for registration details.
