On 2-5 May 2007 in Melbourne (Australia), the ICLEI Oceania Secretariat will hold Accelerating Now!, a gathering of leaders in local government, ICLEI Campaigns and sustainable development from the Oceania region.

Advertised as ‘local action: sustainability’, this event will focus on strengthening council’s capacity for effective and lasting action.

Invited will be:
ICLEI Oceania Members, and Campaign and project participants,
Managers from state and federal government agencies,
Representatives of local governments, related associations, community groups and ngos, energy utilities, water regulators, etc.
Private sector groups, and those with some interest in sustainable local governments.

The four-day event is being generously hosted by the city of Melbourne.
